FAQs
What is a 13x6 lace front cap construction?
A 13x6 wig refers to the size of the lace frontal that is used in the construction of the wig. The "13" in 13x6 refers to the width of the frontal, which is 13 inches, and the "6" refers to the depth of the frontal, which is 6 inches.
A lace frontal is a piece of lace that is used to create the hairline of the wig. The 13x6 lace frontal is particularly popular because it provides a natural-looking hairline that extends from ear to ear, and allows for versatile styling options.
Because the lace frontal covers a larger area of the head than a standard closure, it allows for more flexibility in parting and styling the wig. This means you can create a more natural-looking part, and wear the wig in different styles, including pulled back into a ponytail or bun.
Overall, the 13x6 wig is a great option for those who want a natural-looking wig that allows for versatile styling options.
What is a Pre-Plucked hairline?
A pre-plucked hairline refers to a hairline that has already been plucked or thinned out before the wig is made. This process is done to create a more natural-looking hairline by removing excess hairs and creating a more gradual transition from the wig to the skin.
With a pre-plucked hairline, the wig looks more realistic and less wig-like, as it mimics the appearance of natural hair growth. It also makes it easier to style the wig in different ways, as there is more flexibility with the hairline.
What is wig density?
Wig density refers to the thickness and fullness of the hair on a wig. The density is usually measured by the number of hair strands per square inch on the wig cap.
Low-density wigs have fewer hair strands and offer a more natural and lightweight look, while high-density wigs have more hair strands and provide a fuller, thicker appearance. The density of a wig can vary depending on the desired style and the preference of the wearer.
Is it normal for my wig to shed?
Yes, it is normal for wigs to shed to some extent. Shedding is a natural process that occurs with all types of hair, including human hair and synthetic hair. However, excessive shedding may be a sign of poor wig quality or improper maintenance. If you are experiencing excessive shedding, try gently detangling your wig with a wide-tooth comb or brush, and avoid using excessive heat or harsh styling products that can damage the hair fibers. If shedding persists, you may want to consult with a wig specialist to assess the quality of your wig and determine the best course of action.
613 wigs are typically made from blonde human hair that has been chemically lightened to a very light color. The bleaching process can weaken the hair strands, making them more prone to shedding and breakage. Additionally, the process of creating a 613 wig usually involves more extensive processing than other types of wigs, which can also contribute to shedding.
It's important to note that shedding is a natural process for any type of wig, as hairs will naturally come loose over time due to normal wear and tear. However, excessive shedding can be a sign that the wig was not made with high-quality hair or that it has been processed too much, leading to weaker strands. It's always a good idea to invest in high-quality wigs and to take proper care of them to minimize shedding and extend their lifespan.
Can I wash my wig?
Yes! You can wash your wig. We recommend “co-washing” (washing using only conditioner) your wig, unless there is a lot of product build up, or you feel a deep cleaning with shampoo is necessary. Co-washing, also known as conditioner washing, is a process of washing your wig with a moisturizing conditioner without using shampoo. Co-washing is essential for maintaining the longevity of your wig and keeping it looking fresh and lustrous.
When you wear a wig, it can accumulate dirt, sweat, and other impurities, making it look dull and lifeless. Using shampoo to clean your wig can strip it of its natural oils and leave it feeling dry and brittle. Co-washing your wig can help retain moisture, prevent tangling, and maintain the shine and softness of the hair.
Moreover, co-washing is particularly important for curly and wavy hair wigs, as it helps to define the curls and waves, making them look bouncy and voluminous. It is recommended to co-wash your wig at least once a week or more frequently if you wear it daily.
At Anna Santana Hair Company, all of our wigs are made with premium quality hair, and we highly recommend co-washing as a part of your regular wig maintenance routine.
